Music, Theatre, Dance and the Visual Arts are areas that each student needs access to as part of an educational programme. It is this component of education that in retrospect in the future, brings much joy and a sense of accomplishment. It is the opportunity to blend creativity with facts that makes the learning experience truly real, alive and tangible. In order for this creativity to be fostered and to find for itself an outlet, we have myriad Clubs and Associations for the students to be a part of.
The objective of the office is to work for the welfare of the student community. It provides a common platform for students to exhibit their talents, skills and exchange ideas with the like-minded people. The SWO is involved in hosting a gamut of activities throughout the academic year. Under the aegis of SWO, both I and II PU classes participate in a cultural performance that showcases students' talents. It also stands as a podium for the exchange of culture of different states. XITE, the intra-collegiate fest and Magnachrista, the intercollegiate fest is an annual event that hosts several activities that brings out the students' best.
The Science Forum aims at bringing out the scientist in each student through activities like guest lectures, field trips, inter and intra collegiate competitions, student mentoring by various scientists etc. It also conducts Science Week, a week-long celebration of science annually and COSMOS, a mega event comprising of science exhibits and a gamut of competitions once in two years. This event brings many innovative projects done by the students on one common platform which is used for sharing and interacting with other students. It gives an opportunity to interact with many scientists from prestigious research institutes.
Spectrum helps students of the Social Science stream to channelize their creativity and organizational skills through exhibitions, newsletters, guest lectures, field visits as well as various stage, literary and art events.
The Association of Christian Christites caters to the spiritual needs of the Christian students in Christ Junior College. An annual retreat, prayer meetings along with leadership camp and development programmes are conducted by the association in its attempts at enabling students to lead a meaningful Christian life.
The Language Association, Prerana, hones the various language abilities and skills of students while providing them a platform to exhibit their flair for the language in various competitions.
The Pierian Spring is for the vibrant youngsters of the college who possess a flair for literature and the performing arts. Theatre, public speaking, creative writing, phonetics, movie screening, film appreciation are only a few of its many offerings.
Sedes Minerva, the Quiz Club, functions with the aim of creating a balance in the knowledge and awareness possessed by students. Periodic quiz sessions are held with this agenda in mind and training programmes are conducted as well.
The college choir comprises of students from various disciplines who are united by a common passion for music. The choir receives a high standard of musical training and performs for various college programmes as well as in and around Bangalore.
The college offers training for both boys and girls under the Army wing of the National Cadet Corps in the campus. The training programme includes around twenty parades in a year on Saturday afternoons, training in drill, map reading, weapon training, social service, parasailing, horse riding, bike expedition and others. All I PUC Students are eligible to join the NCC.
The Centre for Social Action is a students' movement for a humane and just society with the child as the focus. Various activities like rural exposure camps, publications, street plays, international exchange programmes and child sponsorship are conducted by the Centre for Social Action.

To unleash this intelligence that is dormant in our students, we support and motivate them to participate in the various sport activities at college. We have separate courts for basketball, volleyball, football and hockey. We also have a cricket pitch for cricket buffs and facilities for throw-ball as well. Selections for the college team are held at the beginning of the academic year. Special coaching camps are held for major sports like football, basketball, volleyball, hockey, cricket and throw ball. Our students are encouraged to participate in inter-collegiate, state, national and international level competitions. The annual sports event held for two days provides students a platform to participate in march past during the inaugural ceremony. It also includes a host of sports events like athletics, shot-put and the like in which students compete and prove their talent. Magna Sports, our inter-collegiate sports fest is one of the many opportunities for exhibition of sportsmanship by our students.
The Tech Club is one of the most active student clubs which aims at educating the student community on the latest trends and skills in technology. Tech club provides opportunities for students to learn modern technologies like Robotics, designing drones, android app development and many more. Tech club boosts the circuit building and analysing skills through the project making competition.
The Model United Nations Society (MUNSOC) aspires to inculcate a sense of global citizenship, awareness and action in the students of Christ Junior College through some of the college’s premier events like the ‘Deeds Campaign’. The main focus of the club lies in foreign policy and the study of international relations through diplomacy. Students receive the opportunity to participate as well as organise these events gaining insight into the participation and organisational fronts while garnering knowledge on pertinent global issues that continue to affect us on a daily basis. The CJC MUNSOC which is also the CJC Model UN delegation, is one of the premier Model UN delegations in the country, that has secured top positions in competitions like Harvard Model UN and Chennai International Model UN.
The Student Development Office at Christ Junior College coordinates all the activities of clubs and associations, organizes training programmes for participation in prestigious international and national level competitions. It also conducts a few major events like the International Gateway Programmes of the college. It oversees the clubs and associations by streamlining their activities, facilitating the budget preparation for the entire year, increasing the effectiveness of their activities by fostering continuous dialogue between different stakeholders to space out their activities adequately to maximize participation, conducting major events in which more than one club has stake, such as, the common inauguration and valedictory of all clubs apart from the stream clubs, continuous assessment to benchmark and improve processes in them and finally, facilitating the preparation of cumulative record, especially the special achievement segment of the same which records all the remarkable achievements of the students in a year.
The Student Development Office is in charge of the international gateway programmes of the Indo-German, Indo-Swedish and Indo-Swiss Student Exchange Programmes. The Indo-German Student Exchange Programme is being organized in collaboration with St. Michael's Gymnasium, Metten. The Indo -Swedish Student Exchange Programme is organised in collaboration with Lerums Gymnasium, Lerums and the Indo-Swiss Student Exchange Programme is organised in collaboration with ceff INDUSTRIE, St Imier , Switzerland.
Attitude changes, an increasing self-consciousness, dissatisfaction with one's body image, peer pressure, identity crisis and the desire to belong are just some of the legions of issues that comprise growing pains. Adolescence is a transition phase of stress and storm and the Department of Counselling at Christ Junior College tries its best to make this change a smooth experience.
Apart from going through the process of physical and mental growth, students often face challenges from various sources, be it from home or the world at large. We, at Christ Junior College understand that this period of their life is one that requires a great deal of positive reinforcement and unconditional care. Our counsellors ensure support and guidance in an environment of comfort and confidentiality, where students can talk freely about their concerns, difficulties, thoughts and feelings. Through the personal counselling offered here, we aim to enable students to balance all the spheres of their life and achieve academic excellence and develop a positive personality. At Christ Junior College, the role of a Counsellor is to motivate and empower students by promoting the development of highly effective and adaptive behaviour.
We also conduct awareness programmes for parents on guiding tips for good parenting as well as workshops on motivation.
At Christ Junior College, the wellbeing of our students is of great importance. We have a fully operational, clean, well-stocked wellness centre where students can recuperate if they do not feel well. Our registered nurse renders her compassionate care and expertise to students who feel under the weather and also dispenses basic medicines and First Aid. The Wellness centre functions from 9:00 am till 2:00 pm from Monday to Friday.
